Neelam Pratim Das
3d Animator
Body of work
These are some renders of the robot I designed myself. His name is Beetle. His rig is a
bit complicated.
This is a video showing how the complex rig works. The hand transforms into a laser gun.
Extra work
This is a render of a war machine i made. This is a hard surface model and the last picture is the wireframe render.
This is a rough sketch of the new mecha I designed. I used ai to redefine the shading so it appears clearer. It has weapons and sensors attached to it.
Environment Renders
Pond on a hill
Scarp metal in a jungle
Cyborg insect in a swamp
Forest scene with various plants
Skills Overview
Hard surface modelling
-- I can create hard surface models like weapons, machinery robots and such similar things. I use various modelling techniques to create compelling models. This is my speciality.
Character designing
-- I can create sleek designs for characters that require certain looks. These designs are practically ready for 3d modelling and rigging.
Organic modelling
-- I can sculpt and retopologize organic models . I am can create smooth polygon flow and good topology that can provide good deformation and result in good animation.
Rigging
-- I can rig characters which can be ready for animation or motion capture. I am comfortable rigging complex hard surface models and can rig organic models with weight painting in softwares like maya.
Keyframe animation
-- I can keyframe animate characters . I can learn new stylized animation which might take some time to perfect. I can also create simple physics simulation like hair or cloth.
Video editing
-- I can do simple video editing like putting together different video clips or image sequence.
Bio
I have always been fascinated by sci fi movies and the epic visual effects they offer. I often wondered how they make fictional characters come to life. I discovered about animation softwares when I was in engineering college. During covid lockdown I decided to utilize the extra time to learn the craft of animation and ended up making some of my own personal projects.
My approach
As a 3D animator, my approach is about understanding the principles of animation, attention to detail, and a passion for bringing characters and environments to life. I draw inspiration from various sources, including real-life observations, movies, art, and even video games. This helps me create unique and compelling character designs. I love modelling characters especially hard surface like robots. I value feedback and believe in the power of iteration. I’m always ready to refine my work until its perfect.
